Outlook recurring tasks not updating
Outlook will then automatically create a new Task based on your recurrence pattern. You can do this directly in the Reminders window by right clicking on the Task and choosing “Mark Complete”.However, even though I’ve set the recurrence correctly, I’m only being reminded for the first occurrence and then never again. Surely I’m overlooking something here as I assume Outlook is perfectly capable of doing this?Outlook is indeed perfectly capable of doing this but the design of the Reminders window allows you to quickly “break” Recurring Tasks when you press the Dismiss button. While it is perfectly fine to press the Dismiss button for Recurring Appointments and Meetings, for Recurring Tasks this won’t result in a new Task item with a new reminder.
Here is the page on Microsoft that says if you assign a recurring task it never updates on your Outlook but it says people can send you status updates which you can track in your Tasks View.To assign a task, you first create the task, and then send it as a task request to someone. The person who receives the task request becomes the temporary owner of the task. For example, to track a report to be written by three writers, create three separate tasks named Write Report: Anne, Write Report: Carlos, and Write Report: Michiyo, and assign each individual task to the appropriate writer. After you create a task and assign it to someone, you might have some management duties to perform in maintaining it until it is complete.
